It was a very intense week for me. I was called in for an audition at Thomas/Bialy Casting for the new series coming out this fall on CBS called Jericho. It was a very dramatic scene, one in which I'm in the hospital after having survived a nuclear blast. I didn't know it when I got the call, but it was for a guest star role, so it was pretty big. I would have had to shave my head too. I went in on Wednesday 8/9 and saw Sherry Thomas who I'd seen at a workshop. She's so sweet and I felt really comfortable around her. In the end, I didn't book it, but it was great to have been called in for the role.
I booked another commercial! It's for Kashi cereals (the ones I've tried are on the health-food side of things, pretty good)! I shot it on Thursday, 8/10, and I'm a farmer. It will be in 15 regional markets (Texas is for sure one of them) and probably in mostly southern states. It supposedly caters to the farmer/rancher/good ol' boys and girls market. Second commercial in LA! The commercial shoot went well and it felt good to be out of the city for a while. Call time was 6:30AM at a ranch about 80 miles north of L.A. It was pretty friggin' hot and we were out there until 7 PM. However, I got to pick almonds, play with cranberries and apples, and be a farmer for a day. There were a lot of nice people on set and I think it will be a pretty good commercial. It starts running in early September nationally, but only for 3 weeks. There is a prize give-away associated with it which is why it won't run too long. It will be airing on all the major networks, so if you see a cityslicker saying "Almonds are good... cranberries are good..." for Kashi granola bars, be sure and look for me as the farmer in the beige shirt and black cap.
I went to a Karaoke bar last night. Do you remember that former WWF wrestler woman Chyna? Well, she was there singing and the big celeb in the house. My friend told some girls that were flirting with us that I was the doctor on the TV show House. It was hilarious because they all said "Oooooooooooooohhhhhhhh, Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh" like they recognized me or something. Obviously they don't watch the show. Got a good laugh out of that one!
