I did some background work on 6/6/06 for a show on the AMC channel called Sunday Morning Shootout. Basically it's a show with Peter Guber and Peter Bart, two Hollywood heavyweight producers, and they discuss the entertainment biz with various guests. I was one of 3 or 4 guys in the background pretending to be a hanging out at the coffee shop, i.e. the set. Anyway, the 2 notable guests were Sir Howard Stringer, CEO of Sony, and Dennis Hopper! Mr. Stringer was a really smart guy and a lot of the focus was on The Davinci Code and its marketing. But I had no idea Dennis Hopper was going to be there and when he walked in, I was in awe. I sat there listening to his conversation with a big ol' smile on my face, although I was supposedly working Sudokus. What got me was his laugh, which is unmistakeable. I didn't get to shake his hand or anything, but I did stare at him involuntarily in between takes and he smiled. Seemed like a nice guy and pretty intelligent too. The funny thing is that I had his character from Blue Velvet fresh in my memory because I watched it for the first time just a few weeks previous. I was just waiting for him to go berzerk and be psycho, but I guess fortunately for me, he didn't. We filmed two shows, and they will be airing on AMC on July 9 and 23. Check your local listings, and you might see me in the back in a light blue or maroon button down in some black pin-striped slacks.

On another note, I auditioned for a web spot called AZC man on Friday (6/9) for the title character. "Project Notes: Zombie/Comedy. Established Entertainment Advertising Agency casting for Web advertising video for major game publisher’s title.". Easier to copy and paste that. Well, I got the role. They had me perform it three different ways as variations on a redneck character, so I'm not exactly sure which one they liked, but I'll be a redneck. Hunting down zombies. Anybody know this game??? All I know is, it pays a little and I get to go over the top. Let you know how it goes...
