Got some of the production photos from "The Chosen" short film I did in December. You can find many more here. It was a spooky thriller type film that will supposedly be turned into a feature in April. Dinair also put me up on their website, although I look constipated or something in that picture. And of course, you can always check me out on IMDB too!

Since January 22nd, I've been pretty busy. Had to go through substitute teacher training and the interviews and all that, but finally started last Friday. At a middle school in East L.A. Kind of a rough first day, but I'll get the hang of it. Otherwise, here's a list of some things I've been doing:
  • SAG feature film audition for a thriller called "Outrage", playing a hoity-toity business man
  • audition for a supporting role in a noir short film called "Arkin"
  • audition for lead in USC graduate thesis called "Mollusks"
  • audition for a game show on the game show network called "Lingo" (I did well!)
  • audition for a Florida State grad thesis film called "Suicide Watchmen"
  • audition for a non-union feature film called "Foursome". Was up for a supporting role of a redneck (actually, an undercover detective, but his cover was a redneck). Got a callback on it, but at the audition, they threw me a curveball and told me they didn't want him to be a redneck anymore. Everything I had prepared was wrong, and having brought the character that I thought was what got me the callback to begin with (this is usually how it happens!), I wasn't able to adjust in the audition. Still, you got to do what the director wants, or bye bye.
  • Audition and callback to producers/director for the NBC pilot "Life", playing the role of a butthead correctional officer. When I went in the first time, they said I didn't have the size (the other guys there were twice my size!), but I guess I gave a good read and they called me back, maybe to give the producers a different look. They didn't bite.
  • Intel print audition (one of those you just smile for the camera)
  • Rehearsed and shot "Must Warn Others", a short film submitted to www.onthelot.com for consideration. I'm one of two characters in the film... and I'm pregnant. I don't see it posted on there (I hope the director got it edited in time for the deadline), but will let you know what the link is to watch it.
  • "Star Wars Dad" spec commercial audition. I was a dad communicating to his son using Star Wars as a metaphor.
  • Auditioned for a USC grad thesis (theatre) called "Lovesong".
  • Audition for "Over the Line" sketch comedy pilot/group. It was a fun audition and really got to be over the top.
  • SAG commercial audition for Pontiac today. First SAG commercial I've had the opportunity to audition for. Has a lot to do with March Madness and will probably be airing a lot then. Callbacks are tomorrow, so hoping, hoping, hoping!
Otherwise, doing tutoring here and there, attending some casting director workshops, and beating the pavement dropping off my headshot/resume.
Celebrity Sitings: Mila Kunis from "That 70's Show" came in to read at the casting office I was interning at. We talked about American Idol and how they don't have many good contestants this year, even though I have not watched that show at all this year. I just kept saying "Yeah, I know.... man... yeah... terrible". Saw Ali Landry at Albertson's the other day. She got in line behind me at the checkout, but I guess I had too much stuff cause she went to another line.

SAG raised their dues and initiation fees (about $2300 to join now, opposed to $1500). Not gonna join until I get offered a SAG job though. That's the current thought...

Allright, been sitting too long. Until next time...
