Since my last post, I've started interning at Natasha Cuba/Jeanne McCarthy casting. They cast mainly feature films, although they are doing a show on MTV called Short Circuitz. It's pretty interesting seeing how everything works as far as the casting process goes. It is extremely busy! I only work one day a week for 9 hours because I can't afford to work for free any more than that. But so far it's been a good experience and I'm learning.
I've had 3 commercial auditions too and they were for Net-Zero, a Japanese baseball commercial (I had to dive and purposefully miss each ball), and "Home Business Opportunity". I had my third episodic audition since being in L.A. last Tuesday for "The Unit", ep. "Silver", on CBS, and it was for the role of "bus driver", a co-star billing, although there were no lines scripted (they said some might be added on set). A friend of mine was auditioning too for the same part. It was nice to be called in and that's the second time for that office. I assume I didn't get it, but maybe third time's a charm. I've been doing drops almost every weekday now and have continued taking the casting director workshops (I got the audition for The Unit from one of those). I'm going to lay off on those workshops for a while though because money is really tight.
Other than acting, I went and saw LA Guns (that 80's hairband) play on Halloween night with my upstairs neighbor. Went to a Halloween party dressed up as a cowboy. Man, women like cowboys... Sang karaoke last Saturday night with a group from Actorsite. I sang "Living After Midnight" by Judas Priest. Not the best song choice. Everybody was pretty much just staring at me stone faced. Or was it my voice? Until next time...
